Health & Hope for All — सेहत और उम्मीद, सबके लिए
Inspired by a family legacy of compassion, Dr. Asha Rawal and Sonali Rawal Bhatia revived the Dr. Suraj Prakash Jeevan Das Rawal Memorial Society to honour the enduring legacy of Dr. Suraj Prakash Jeevan Das Rawal and the values passed down through generations of a family deeply committed to serving others.
Dr. Suraj Prakash Jeevan Das Rawal, a respected ophthalmologist, believed that quality healthcare should be accessible with dignity, compassion and humanity. Throughout his life, he served countless patients with empathy and integrity while actively contributing to numerous charitable organisations, medical associations and community initiatives in various capacities. Whether through medical service, leadership or volunteerism, he generously gave his time and expertise to causes that improved the lives of others.
His values were shaped by his own father-a simple man from a humble background whose kindness, generosity and willingness to help others left an indelible mark on everyone around him. It was this spirit of selfless service that became the foundation of Dr. Rawal's life's work and continues to inspire the mission of the Society today.
Today, that legacy lives on through his wife, Dr. Asha Rawal, President of the Society, who continues to dedicate her time, expertise and unwavering commitment to advancing its mission. Together with their daughter, Sonali Rawal Bhatia, she revived the Society with a renewed vision: to preserve Dr. Rawal's legacy while expanding its impact through accessible, preventive and community-focused healthcare.
Rooted at Rawal Nursing Home, the Society continues a long-standing tradition of community healthcare through preventive health programmes, free medical camps, blood donation drives, women's health initiatives and public awareness campaigns. Our focus is on reaching underserved communities, promoting early detection, and connecting individuals with timely treatment and ongoing care.
What began as a tribute has evolved into a community movement dedicated to making healthcare more accessible, compassionate and inclusive.
We believe that we have been fortunate in life, and with that privilege comes a responsibility to give back. Through the Society, we are committed to extending quality healthcare, dignity and hope to underserved communities—because everyone deserves the opportunity to lead a healthier life, regardless of their circumstances.
At the heart of our work is a simple belief: those who have the ability to help also have the responsibility to do so.
Health and hope should belong to everyone—not just those who can afford it.
